This is nothing short of the best film I have ever seen. It was very emotional to finally see the book of the century come to life on the big screen as the movie of the century. The scale of the book has been perfectly transferred to the big screen, not leaving out a single detail. The imagery is everything you had imagined when reading the book and then some. Where the book at certain moments seemed to be very slow and meticulous, the film goes on like a rollercoaster ride, leaving you feeling one rush after another. The fellowship never disappoints, lives up to it's hype and outdoes it with ease. The pace at which the movie comes along makes you want to come back for more, in fact I was telling my friend that I actually didn't want this movie to ever stop. It is to me the first correct representation of a fantasy movie, the first time an effort has been made to give the genre a serious approach, and it has payed off. The only bad thing about it is that we have to wait so damn long for the next two episodes to come out. I just hope I will live to see the next two episodes.

The only thing you could ask of this movie is more! But wait. there IS more. Two more movies follow AND if you buy the DVD special edition, you get 30 more minutes of film. Well worth it. You get to see the hobbits actually fight and even kill a few orcs.
